The Infant Brain & Behavior lab is a research group under the direction of Dr. Courtney Filippi. This lab group is housed in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. The mission of DCAP is to be the national and global leader in child mental health and development through transformative science and evidence-based clinical care, integrated with pediatric health care, forward-thinking education, and effective public health advocacy.
Our research space at One Park Ave (midtown Manhattan) consists of several family-friendly testing rooms that include an EEG scanner, an eye-tracking room, an MRI system room, and a large testing room with modular play mats, toddler tables and chairs, toys, and testing materials. Additional spaces include a kitchen, bathrooms, and lounge spaces that are helpful for entertaining accompanying siblings. All testing rooms are sound-attenuated spaces equipped with child-friendly furniture.
Our MRI facility is located on the 6th floor at 153 E 53rd St, New York, NY and is conveniently located near the 51st St Subway Station on the 6 train line and the Lexington Ave/53rd St Subway Station on the E and M train lines. This midtown facility houses two state-of-the-art Siemens 3T MRI scanners and is specifically adapted to support the needs of infants and their families. Adjacent to the MRI suite are 4 available rooms for acclimation of families. These rooms include comfortable seating, dimmable lights, a changing table for babies and calming décor. We provide a range of options for easing baby/child to natural sleep, each customized to natural family sleep routines.
